Portis, Parker impress as Wizards beat Cavaliers

The Washington Wizards made a couple of moves prior to the trade deadline that changed the makeup of their team a bit. Obviously the news about John Wall rupturing his achilles played a role into Washington moving one of their "core" pieces in Otto Porter Jr. Markieff Morris was also traded prior to the deadline this week as well. Last night was the first opportunity for the players currently on the team to see how their new teammates would fit in. It's fair to say that it wa

Beal's 34 not enough as LaVine leads Bulls past Wizards

The Washington Wizards started a home back-to-back off with a 101-92 loss to the visiting Chicago Bulls. It was just Zach LaVine's second game back after returning from an ankle injury. On a minutes restriction, he led his team with 24 points. Bradley Beal led all scorers with 34 points, but he didn't get enough help as Washington struggled to put the ball in the basket. Chicago got big games from their starting front court pairing of Lauri Markkanen (pictured above) and Wend

Irving, Wall duel as Boston outlasts Washington in OT

Kyrie Irving and John Wall were sensational in overtime. Boston started the period on a 7-1 run, but as had been the case most of the night, Washington responded. Kelly Oubre hit a triple to give the Wizards a 121-120 lead with 1:33 left. Irving hit two free throws as Boston regained the lead, but Markieff Morris scored for Washington. Down one and heavily guarded by Wall, Kyrie hit a very tough three pointer over John in front of the Boston bench. Wall responded with another

Wall reaches a couple of milestones as Washington tops Boston

The Washington Wizards rallied to beat the visiting Boston Celtics last night at Capital One Arena, they withstood an incredibly hot start from Boston's Jaylen Brown before taking control of the game. Brown was electric in the first quarter, scoring 21 of his team's 30 points and 21 of his 27 points of the night in that period. At one point, he was outscoring the Wizards as a team. Then, Wall took over and the Wizards started the second half strong before running to a 113-101

Wizards take season series with win over Pacers

After a dramatic double overtime victory against the Celtics on Wednesday, the Wizards came into Saturday night's game off two days rest and it showed. The Wizards got a much needed win as the seaso

Wizards show great fight in win over Thunder

In their first game after finding out John Wall would be out for 6-8 weeks, the Washington Wizards came out and earned a hard fought win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. For possibly the first time this season, the Wizards played with the type of hunger and effort that was indicative of their success last season. These two teams met last week in Oklahoma City and the Thunder won at home. The Wizards got a chance to avenge that loss and did so last night with a 102-96 win. Otto
