Six score in double figures as Washington pulls away late

The Washington Wizards had to earn the win over the visiting Dallas Mavericks. Despite getting throttled in Brooklyn earlier this week, the Mavs had been enjoying success over the Wizards. They had one the five previous matchups, but the Wizards were able to take care of business late, courtesy of back-to-back triples from Jeff Green that gave them separation late. Six players scored in double figures for Washington, including the entire starting five en route to the 132-123

Hawks hit twenty three pointers in win over Wizards

The Washington Wizards hosted the Atlanta Hawks last night, the visitors were at the tail end of a long road trip. The Wizards at the end of a three game home stand have had at least one day off between games. Yet it was the visiting Hawks who pushed the pace at every given opportunity, Atlanta would go up big early and hold on for a 137-129 win over Washington. Nine players scored in double figures for Atlanta, they also knocked down 20 triples on the night. The former Maryl

Green sparks second unit explosion in win over Pacers

On the previous night, during a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers the Washington Wizards bench brought them back into the game. Down 25 points, they fought their way back into it. The second unit plays with a bit more edge and flat out hunger. They set the tone with 58 points in a 107-89 win over the Indiana Pacers, led by Jeff Green's (pictured above) 23 points. Green returned to the second unit with Porter being reinserted into the starting lineup. After going down early, th

Curry's 38 push Warriors past Wizards, extend win streak to nine

The Washington Wizards showed a ton of grit last night against the visiting Golden State Warriors. They also showed their lack of poise during a pivotal stretch in the fourth quarter. Washington cut a once 15 point lead to just two with 7:47 left in the fourth quarter. The had a chance to tie it at 108 when Chasson Randle found a cutting Sam Dekker, but Sam missed the point blank shot at the rim. The reigning NBA champs responded with a quick 9-0 run to regain control of the

Beal, Leonard duel as Raptors edge Wizards

There was a showdown between two of the best players in their respective positions in not only the Eastern Conference, but the league at Capital One Arena on Sunday afternoon. The fans that braved the winter weather were treated to quite a show as the Toronto Raptors beat the Washington Wizards 140-138 in double overtime. Beal has 32, Satoransky gets first career triple-double in win over Bucks

Bradley Beal scored 32 points, Tomas Satoransky (18 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists) recorded his first career triple-double to lead Washington past the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee Bucks. The Wizards got huge second halves from both Trevor Ariza and Jeff Green in the 113-106 victory. Milwaukee was led by Kris Middleton's 25 points and Eric Bledsoe had 18, both teams saw their starting fives all score in double figures. It was a good win for Washington because they're

Wizards use fourth quarter run to close out Hawks

Tied at 94 with 6:44 left in the fourth quarter, the Washington Wizards used a 15-4 run to close the game. The Atlanta Hawks had fought back from double digit deficits several times throughout the evening, the largest being at 16. The run to close the game started with five quick points from Beal, but defense is what really fueled it. Bryant came up with a big block a few possessions later, the ensuing Washington possession ended with a Jeff Green triple. Tomas Satoransky hit

Balanced Wizards outlast Hornets, Walker's 47 points

The Washington Wizards were able to outlast the Charlotte Hornets and Kemba Walker's 47 points. The Wizards used a balanced effort to beat the Hornets 130-126, three different players scored 20 plus points and none of them were named Bradley Beal. It was a much needed win with the first reason being Washington needed it, the second was it came on a day when they found out John Wall would not be returning this season with that heel injury. Against Chicago, Beal didn't get much
