A grown man at forward, Pitt junior Jamel Artis is a inside-outside nightmare for opponents. Artis has the skill, size and toughness to be a force in the paint, yet he is also capable of being a knockdown shooter and a playmaker off the bounce. Artis put up good numbers last season despite being the focal point for every team that Pitt faced while not getting consistent offensive help outside his front court mate Michael Young. Not a household name YET, with his expected improvement from his breakout sophomore year to this upcoming season, he will be soon enough. Artis will have to elevate his game even more if Pitt is to return to the NCAA Tournament once again....he is more than capable of making that happen!
