Caira Washington Dominant; GW Women's Cruises


Junior forward Caira Washington was unstoppable scoring 20 of her game high 23 points in the first half

George Washington junior forward Caira Washington had as great a first half as a player can have, scoring 20 points (9-15 FG) and grabbing eight rebounds, seven offensive, to help lead the Colonials to a 85-58 win over Grambling State. GW jumped on Grambling right from the start and wouldn't be threaten throughout the game. Junior guard Shannon Cranshaw knocked down a career high five 3-pointers, which included three straight at one point finishing with 15 points for the game. Washington would ultimately finished with 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting while sophomore forward Kelli Prange added 12 points and 7 rebounds.

GW shot 46.6 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point territory while holding Grambling State to 38.5 percent for the game and once again dominated the glass, grabbing 54 rebounds to Grambling States 29.

Senior guard Yosha Washington led Grambling State with 21 points and 5 rebounds.

GW will look to become 2-0 Tuesday as they take on fellow DC area program American University at 7pm
