Larsens 21 Points Leads GW Men's To 92-81 Win Over Army

It wasn't easy and at times it wasn't pretty, however George Washington walked away with the result that they wanted defeating Army (3-1) 92-81 improving to 4-0 on the season. A steady dose of Kevin Larsen (21 points and 7 rebounds) going to work in the paint helped GW jump on Army early and carry the momentum to a 46-35 halftime lead. Just when it appeared GW would cruise to victory, Army showed how tough they were. Led by senior forward Tanner Plomb (27 points and 12 rebounds), Army would go on a 18 to 5 run to start the second half to take a 53-51 lead. The Colonials would regroup to take control, thanks to a Cavanaugh 3-pointer and a energy boosting Matt Hart dunk, and they would never truly be threatened again. Army was in the bonus for most of the second half and GW took full advantage, hitting 18 of 23 free throws.

Matt Hart was huge off the bench, scoring 17 points in twelve minutes of action while Patricio Garino and Tyler Cavanaugh added 18 points and 11 points, 9 rebounds respectively.

GW will take on Gardner Webb Tuesday at 11am before taking part in the Barclay's Center Classic later this week.
