Balanced Attack Leads No.1 DeMatha Over No. 9 Bishop McNamara 86-59


DeMatha senior guard and Washington commit Markelle Fultz and junior wing DJ Harvey combined for 40 points and 19 rebounds in a decisive win over McNamara

In a highly anticipated early season WCAC match-up, DeMatha used nearly flawless execution on both ends of the floor to cruise to a 86-59 win over host Bishop McNamara. McNamara appeared up for the challenge led by junior guard Jamir Moultrie (22 points game high), as they kept the game close in the first quarter 16-11. Then, DeMatha senior guard Markelle Fultz showed why he is among the best players in the country. The Washington commit put on a show, finishing with a near triple double with 20 points, 13 assist, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks to put the Stags up big for the remainder of the game. Fultz wasn't alone, junior wing DJ Harvey posted a double double with 20 points (9-12 FG) and 12 rebounds while senior sharpshooter Nate Darling added 19 points. The trio combined for 59 of DeMatha's 86 points. The Stags improved to 7-0 on the season while the Mustangs fell to 5-3.

Bishop McNamara will hit the road to take on Cape Henlopen (DE) as they take part in Slam Dunk to the Beach December 27th at 6pm

DeMatha will travel to take on Westview (OR) in the Les Schwab Invitational Sunday December 27th at 4pm

McNamara junior guard Jamir Moultrie put up a fight finishing with a game high 22 points
