In basketball, you can succeed with just skill and you can succeed with athleticism, although if you bring a high level of both to the table, then you have a chance to be special. Roman Catholic brought both in waves as they led from start to finish defeating Maret 67-51. The combination of size, athleticism and toughness put Maret on their heels from the starting tip as Roman Catholic led by point guard Tony Carr ( 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assist) would jump out to a 12-2 lead after one. Maret would come alive in the second as junior center Luka Garza would score ten of Marets 17 points, however, Roman Catholic relentless perimeter attack continued into the half as they held a 35-19 lead. In the second half, Roman Catholic would hold off Maret by answering all of their runs almost immediately with key defensive stops and despite Garza finishing the with 32 points and 8 rebounds. No other player on Maret scored in double figures. Senior forward Lamar Stevens soared to 13 points while Nazeer Bostick and Dakquan Davis added 11 and 12 points respectively in the win.

Roman Catholic held Maret to 36.2% shooting from the field and 12.5% shooting from 3-point range for the game while shooting 45.8% from the field and 31.6% from 3-point territory.

Maret fell to 6-4 on the season while Roman Catholic improved to 7-1
