EYBL Session One (Brooklyn) - Takeover Sends Early Message

Takeover center Luka Garza (Maret) shoots over the All Ohio center

After a heart breaking loss in the 2015 EYBL semi's, Team Takeover came into this summer locked in, even with a lot of new faces. They made a hell of impression in the first session of 2016, going undefeated, knocking off All Ohio, Boo Williams and Mac Irvin Fire to finish 3-0 (2-0) in EYBL play. Takeover led by the blazing hot point guard Chris Lykes (Gonzaga/ 16.3 points, 56% FG, 38% 3-FG, 90% FT), was deadly efficient, while as a team, takeover shot 49% from the field and 37% from 3-point range during the session in Brooklyn. We are a long way from Peach Jam, however with the level of efficiency and urgency that takeover displayed, if it continues, don't be surprised to see a deep run towards a championship in July.
