BSN Summer League - Williams Clutch Free Throw's Helps Sidwell Friends Edge DeMatha 62-61


Sidwell Friends guard Jelani Williams finished with a game high 25 points including the game winning free throws to lead Sidwell over DeMatha 62-61

In a battle of top area wings in Sidwell Friends Jelani Williams and DeMatha's DJ Harvey, Sidwell would outlast DeMatha 62-61 in BSN Summer League action. It was a back an forth affair during the first half which saw a great individual duel between Harvey and Williams, both trying to lead their respective teams. DeMatha ultimately led 37-34 at the half after a buzzer beating three pointer in the final seconds. Early in the second half, Harvey went down with an apparent ankle injury and would not return. Sidwell led by Williams took full advantage. Despite the efforts of DeMatha guards Ryan Allen (11 points) and Justin Moore (9 points) to keep the Stags out in front, Sidwell wouldn't be denied, as Williams calmly knocked down four clutch free throw's in the last minute to win the game. DeMatha's high flying wing DJ Harvey posted 16 points before leaving due to injury shortly after halftime. Highlights can be seen below.
