Match-up's against five 2017 NCAA Tournament teams highlight George Washington's Non Confere


George Washington head coach Maurice Joseph is looking to challenge the Colonials with a tough non conference schedule

George Washington announced their 2017-2018 non conference schedule today with five opponents being NCAA Tournament teams.

GW opens the season with home match-ups against Fairmont State on Nov. 4 in an exhibition contest. and Howard on Friday, Nov. 10, before hitting the road to face Florida State, Nov 14th. The Colonials will next host Hampton, Nov 18th and Rider Nov. 20th in the opening rounds of the Las Vegas Invitational, before taking on Xavier and either Kansas State or Arizona State Nov. 23rd-24th to complete play in the Las Vegas Invitational. GW closes out November in a local battle at the Smith Center against Morgan State on the 29th.

“This non-conference schedule will be among the more challenging we’ve faced in my time here and will have us well-prepared for league play,” said head coach Maurice Joseph. “I’m also excited to bring some very tough competition into the Smith Center as we look to continue to build on a streak of winning 30 of our last 31 non-conference home games.”

December 3rd, George Washington faces Temple in the BB&T Classic and then returns to the Smith Center December 6th to face Princeton, before hitting the road once again to face a talented Penn State team Dec. 9th. Finally, the Colonials finish their ultra competitive non conference schedule at home against Miami (Dec. 16), New Hampshire (Dec. 20) and Harvard (Dec. 23).
