GW Sophomore Caira Washington finished with 13 points and 5 rebounds in the win

Bowie State entered the Charles E Smith Center with upset on the mind. Facing a GW team without one of their key players Jonquel Jones who is out with a foot injury, Bowie State saw a void in the middle that they could possibly exploit to leave with a win. Things sometime does not work out quite as planned. GW would literally run Bowie State off the floor as they would cruise to a 88-45 victory. GW opened the game on a 22-6 run in the first four minutes of play and would never look back. All available Colonial players would score, as GW sophomore forward Caira Washington would lead GW with 13 points, while senior point guard Lauren Chase stuffed the stat sheet with 8 points, 10 assist and 5 steals. Bowie State was led by senior forward/center Donia Naylor who finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds while guard Tynita Baker added 11 points and 3 rebounds. GW will host 9th ranked Maryland Saturday at 3:30 pm.
