Virginia's Justin Anderson Leads The Way In Win Over North Carolina

By Cardell Dudley

Question's lingered about how Virginia would recover after blowing an 11 point second half lead against Duke for their first loss of the season over the weekend. Against North Carolina, Virginia answered all those questions with an impressive road win over 12th ranked North Carolina 75-64. Virginia 20-1,8-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) refocused on the thing that pushed them to a 19-0 start.....defense!!!! And defense, is what pushed Virginia to a 18 point lead late in the second half after a 33-32 halftime deficit, before finishing UNC off. It was a balanced attack for Virginia with junior guard Malcolm Brogdon (17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assist) and sophomore London Perrantes (15 points, 6 assist) winning the backcourt match-up with UNC's Paige and Tokoto, however the difference maker in the game was junior guard/forward Justin Anderson. The former Montrose Christian star was deadly efficient, finishing with 16 points (6-10 FG), 7 assist, 3 rebounds with just one turnover, while also holding UNC star forward J.P. Tokoto to a 1 point (0-3 FG) performance. Once again, Virginia proved that they are among the nations elite, and a legit threat to win it all. Although if that is to happen, expect Justin Anderson to be one of the main reasons. Take a look at Anderson's performance below.
