Seahawks Fall Hard To The Terps


St Mary's guard Tre Mouton (defending Melo Trimble) finished with a game high 16 points in the loss

St Mary's College came into the game against Maryland eager to test themselves against the Big Ten power. The test proved to be overwhelming as the Seahawks fell to the Terps, 93-45. St Mary's was led by freshman guard Tre Mouton who finished with a game high 16 points and is the nephew of former Terp wing Byron Mouton. Center Damonte Dodd led the way for Maryland with a double double 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Maryland started the game on a 16-2 run and never looked back, holding St Mary's to 29 percent in the first half as they took a 54-22 lead at the half.The second half saw more of the same as the Terps cruised to a blowout win. The Seahawks finished the game shooting 32 percent from the field and 14 percent from 3-point territory. St Mary's turned the ball over 24 times and was dominated on the boards 28-51.

St Mary's will hit the road to face Baldwin Wallace Saturday at 6pm

Damonte Dodd was a force in the paint finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds on 4-6 shooting from the field
