Andre Hood 29 Points Sends Montgomery College Past PGCC

Raptors Sophomore Andre Hood poured in a game high 29 points in a big win over host Owls

Montgomery College (12-4) came to PG (11-4) hungry, driven and out for revenge due to the Owl's defeating them TWICE in dramatic fashion during the 15-16 season. The revenge came swift and often as the Raptors took it to the Owls in a intense, physical contest 79-60. Sophomore forward Andre Hood scored a game high 29 points while freshman point guard Chris Johnson added 13 points.

PGCC jumped out to a 15-12 lead mid way through the first half thanks in large part to some timely shooting from freshman forward Alex Morales (21 points) and freshman guard Kennith Ford (9 points), with both players scoring 7 points each in the half, however, Montgomery would respond. The Raptors, turned up the defensive intensity an dominated the boards, as they went on a 20-5 run to take a 32-20 halftime lead.

PGCC, led by a determined Morales and Mykal Johnson (19 points) came out the half matching Montgomery's energy on a 16-6 run. to cut the Raptors lead to two at 38-36, yet, it would be the closest the Owl's got as the Raptors, behind a relentless Hood, finished the game on a 41-24 run to walk out victorious.

Montgomery will next take on CCBC Dundalk Saturday at 4pm while the Owls will hit the road to take on Allegany College of Maryland Friday at 3pm.
