G2S and Kruegers shine in week four of the Brunson League


Kruegers guard Donn Hill put on a dominant all around performance, finishing with 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist and 3 steals in a blowout win over West Panthers

Game One - G2S 69 PT Hoops 66

Dimitri Rucker put on a show displaying his inside-outside versatility, however it wasn't enough

Game one kicked off with GS2 in a tight battle with PT Hoops. PT Hoops held a narrow 37-36 halftime lead thanks to the smooth play from guard Danny Canary, who posted 13 first half points. Canary, suffered an ankle injury in the closing seconds of the first half and couldn't continue in the game. GS2 took full advantage. Although, PT Hoops forward Dimitri Rucker put the team on his back and went to work inside, GS2 led by the steady play of point guard Marlin, who came up big in the clutch with big time free throws and lock down defense and along with the inside play of forward Benny, pulled out the win. Benny posted 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in the win while Rucker finished with a double double of his own with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals.

Game Two - Kruegers 79 West Panthers 61

Kruegers Donn Hill swarms West Panthers Stephen Milledge

In this highly entertaining second game, Kruegers depth proved to be the difference as they knocked off the West Panthers by a big margin. West Panthers kept it close at the end of the first, 18-15, thanks in large part to the shooting from point guard Stephen Milledge who scored nine of the West Panthers fifteen points. Kruegers guard Donn Hill responded in kind. Hill helped lead the Kruegers to a 24 point second quarter to take a 42-32 halftime lead. In one sequence, Hill assisted on a fast break lay-up, stole the inbound pass,scored, and then stole the inbound pass once again, was promptly fouled and he went on to convert both free throws. That took the air out of the West Panthers. Kruegers poured it on in the second half with a balanced attack outscoring WP 37 to 28 to close out the game. Hill did it all, posting 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist and 3 steals to lead the Kruegers while Milledge scored a game high 30 points, 4 assist and 2 steals in a tough loss.
