2017 P.I.T.S League - Team Hylin edges DMV All Stars


Team Hylin continued his summer long terror, scoring 25 points to lead Team Hylin

Team Hylin came away from this competitive contest with a win as they outlasted the DMV Allstars 64-60. The action began with both teams coming out of the gate with great energy. Aquille Carr of the DMV Allstars gave his team a one point 8-7 lead with a pretty off the glass floater. As both team's continued to make big plays, Team Hylin's Damonte hit a tough mid range jump shot that tied the game at 10-10. The highlight of the game occurred shortly after as Aquille Carr drove down the middle of the lane and put a Team Hylin defender in the blender, finishing with a crazy layup to end the first as the DMV All Stars held a 18-16 lead.

The second quarter began with Aquille Carr attacking the basket relentlessly, helping to extend DMV All Stars lead to 22-16. Both teams began to exchange baskets until the DMV All Stars went on a run. DMV All Stars guard Austin Cooley found guard Kory for a sweet and-1 lay-up in transition that helped push their lead to four, 33-29 at the half.

Team Hylin came out of halftime firing from all cylinders as Isaac began hitting shots from all over the court. Hylin sharpshooter Isaac hit three straight three pointers to cut the DMV All Stars lead to two, 46-44. Both teams would engage in a tug of war battle as they ended the third tied at 49.

The DMV Allstars was the first team to put points on the board in the fourth but Team Hylin persevered as OLU showed off his polished post game, scoring on back to back baskets . After Aquille Carr found Kory for a backdoor layup to tie the game at 58-58. Isaac wouldn't let Team Hylin be denied a win, driving and scoring inside and knocking down clutch free throws as Team Hylin came away from this hard fought game with a 64-60 win. Isaac led all scorers with a game high 25 points.
