John Wall brings the ball up court during the 2010 NBA Summer League
All eyes were on the number one overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, as the 2010 NBA Summer League began. John Wall, fresh off earning SEC Player of the Year, ALL-SEC First Team and AP NCAA All America First Team honors during his dominant freshman season at the University of Kentucky where he averaged 16.6 points, 6.5 assist and 4.3 rebounds a game, took the floor in Las Vegas looking to validate the immense hype surrounding him. Didn't take long for faithful Wizards fans and those in attendance to watch him, to become believers. Wall did it all, averaging a summer league best 23.5 points, 7.8 assist (also a summer league best), 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game for the Wizards in four games of action. It was an incredible introduction for a Washington franchise that was in complete turmoil after finishing 26-56 during the 09-10 season and missing the playoffs for the second straight year.
