Keep an eye on:

Depth: With limited dollars to be aggressive in free agency, Washington’s GM Ernie Grunfeld did an excellent job with quality additions to the Wizards roster. Signing center Dwight Howard, forward Jeff Green, guard Austin Rivers, high motor center Thomas Bryant and drafting Oregon standout Troy Brown Jr not only provided a much needed upgrade of talent and experience but it helped bolster the depth of the roster in key areas. Washington can literally go ten deep during games and be comfortable and that’s something I’m sure head coach Scott Brooks is happy to have. Pay attention to the different line-ups and the building of chemistry between players as the preseason progresses, it can pay dividends later on in the season.

Rookie’s/ Two- Way Players: It’s year one of the Wizards G-League affiliate Capital City Go-Go and it’s been clear from day one that this team will be pivotal in the development of young prospects for Washington. Washington nearly has a full roster so a number of rookies (not named Troy Brown Jr) along with two-way players Devin Robinson and Jordan McRae, may see action with the Go-Go. For rookies, Chris Chiozza and Tiwian Kendley, shining during preseason will go a long way in determining if they will remain a part of the Wizards organization. For Robinson and McRae, the mission is to prove they belong on the Wizards roster for good, they will get opportunities. Brooks has created a culture of strong player development and you see the results year in and year out, that’s sure to be a part of the Go-Go’s culture which should have fans excited moving forward.
