Keep an eye on:

Defense: DEFENSE! DEFENSE! DEFENSE! Since Washington as a team started to fully buy in that defense would have be top priority, winning results have been immediate. The Wizards are riding a three game win streak where they’ve held opponents under 30 points eight out of the last twelve quarters. Also during the Wizards win streak, they have either tied or won the rebounding battle, which is key for their improved defense. Going into Monday’s game against the Magic, Washington was ranked dead last in the NBA in points allowed, giving up 119 a game, however, during this three game win streak, the Wizards are holding opponents to 104 points per game. Throw in the fact that Washington is ranked top 10 in the league in steals (8.7) and blocks (6.3) and you can understand what has sparked this recent turn around. If the Wizards can stay locked in on the defensive end, the winning will surely continue and will quietly put them back in mix with the eastern conference elite.
