Patriots forward Nick Ellington scores two of his 16 points in a win over the Quakers

George Mason held on to edge Pennsylvania 83–79 in a hard-fought, back-and-forth contest that tested both teams down the stretch. The Patriots were led by Fatt Hill, who poured in a team-high 18 points to go along with four rebounds, while reserve forward Nick Ellington provided a major spark off the bench with a double-double of 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting. Kory Mincey also chipped in 16 points to round out a balanced scoring effort. Pennsylvania was paced by Michael Zanoni, who finished with a game-high 23 points and four assists on 9-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, while Cam Thrower added 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Ultimately, George Mason’s physicality proved to be the difference, as the Patriots dominated the interior and outscored the Quakers 54–32 in the paint.
