Defending Without Fouling: is a must for Washington. It's an issue that has plagued them throughout the season. In Sunday's loss to Las Vegas, putting the Aces on the line is the main reason why they lost a 21 point lead late in the third quarter and ultimately, lost the game. Washington put the Aces on the free throw line 21 times during the game, 15 of those 21 attempts came after the 2:49 mark in the third quarter with the Mystics holding a 65-44 lead. Washington had balanced efficient scoring for most of the game, yet, playing defense with their hands not only helped the Aces get free points and in a rhythm offensively from the free throw line, but it helped slow down the Mystics offense and disrupted their offensive rhythm.
