Finest Magazine Redemption Mission

By Dominik Burks

With the playoffs starting in the coming days, you could feel the atmosphere shift inside the gates. Basic Sports looking for their second win over Finest Mag in two weeks, while Finest Mag looked to redeem themselves after dropping their first physical battle. According to a Finest Magazine source the struggling team was also facing a hit to the rotation with a few injuries. Basic Sports pushed the rock effectively to start the game and jumped to a 8-3 lead. Finest Mag fought back to eventually tie the game at 10. Finest Mag was very assertive in the first half but couldn’t convert at the rim. Towards the end of the end of the first half, the tempo of the game was fast with both teams committing numerous turnovers. Heading into halftime Basic Sports led 15-12. Tre Galloway started the second half consistently showing off his one on one game. After a back and forth second half, the game was tied at 20 with 8:30 to go. Both teams continued to find their way to the free throw line in the second half. The play was very erratic but Basic Sports found ways to convert grabbing a 35-31 lead with 35 seconds to go in the ballgame. Facing a four point deficit Julian Livingston nails a three and Finest Mag quickly fouls on the other end.
