After knocking off Towson to open up the CAA Tournament, Elon came in the game against top seed William & Mary eager to pull off the upset. Things didn't go according to plan. Led by 2014-2015 CAA Player of the Year Marcus Thornton, William & Mary ended Elon's season in convincing fashion, winning 72-59. Despite the steady lead, Elon had runs where they closed the gap to single digits, thanks in large part to the efforts of stud freshman Elijah Bryant ( 15 points) and Austin Hamilton (13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assist), however the Tribe would simply not be denied. Thornton would finish with 17 points (5-12 FG), 3 rebounds and 3 assist in a game that pretty much saw the Tribe lead from start to finish. Tribe sophomore guard/forward Omar Prewitt would add 16 points (6-11 FG), 4 rebounds and 3 assist in the win. William & Mary will take on the winner of James Madison & Hostra Sunday at 2:30 pm in the CAA semi-finals.
