The 2025 DMV Hoops Live Warm-Up tipped off at the historic DeMatha Catholic High School, setting the tone for the upcoming, highly anticipated, DMV Live Periods. Featuring a stacked lineup of elite local and national programs, the event served as an early proving ground for top prospects looking to make a statement . With college coaches, scouts, and media in attendance, the atmosphere was electric as rising stars and seasoned veterans alike took the floor to display their talent, toughness, and team chemistry under the bright lights of one of the area’s premier showcases.

Daniel Abass/ 6’8/ DeMatha/ Forward/ 2027:

An athletic and versatile forward with an impressive blend of size, skill, and mobility. Abass excels in transition, running the floor hard and finishing with authority or finesse. Around the basket, Abass shows polished footwork and a soft touch, making him a reliable interior scorer. He’s also a strong rebounder who consistently crashes the glass on both ends. His jumper features a smooth, fluid release, giving him potential as a stretch option from the perimeter. Defensively, he can switch across multiple positions, using his length and agility to guard inside and out. His two-way versatility and high motor make him a standout prospect in the 2027 class.
Terry Brooks/ 6’0/ Bishop McNamara/ point guard/ 2028:

Rising sophomore plays with poise and I.Q. far beyond his years. He commands the offense with a natural feel for the game, expertly managing pace while making smart decisions. Dynamic off the bounce, Brooks combines excellent court vision and passing skills to consistently create opportunities for teammates. He can score in a variety of ways and carries a confident mindset, fully expecting to dominate any game he plays in. A truly big-time talent, Brooks projects as a leader and impact player at the next level.
Lawrence Brown II | 6'0" | PG | Paul VI | Class of 2026:

A natural floor general, Brown II excels at orchestrating the offense with poise beyond his years. While he can be a streaky shooter, he makes up for it with high basketball IQ, crisp decision-making, and the ability to keep his team organized in pressure situations. Defensively, he's a smart and engaged presence who reads the game well and comes up with timely steals, often igniting transition opportunities.
Derek Daniels/6’8/Paul VI/ F/ 2027:

Daniels, is an athletic presence who thrives in transition as a high-motor rim runner. He’s a monster on the glass, particularly excelling at creating second-chance opportunities with aggressive offensive rebounding. Inside the paint, Daniels is an efficient scorer who finishes through contact in traffic and shows good touch around the rim. His developing ball-handling skills allow him to attack off the bounce in space, while defensively, he’s an instinctive shot blocker who alters shots with his length and timing. With his blend of athleticism, motor, size and potential on both ends of the floor, Daniels is a rising talent to watch.
Jared Jeffers/ 6’10/ DeMatha/ Forward-Center/ 2027:

Jeffers is a high-upside big with a rare combination of athleticism, size, skill, and basketball IQ. At 6’10, he’s a major interior presence whether finishing above the rim as a lob threat, protecting the paint with timely shot-blocking, or running the floor in transition like a much smaller player. Offensively, Jeffers is comfortable operating inside and is steadily expanding his face-up game and shooting range. His versatility on both ends of the floor allows him to guard multiple positions and stretch defenses with flashes of perimeter touch. As he continues to add strength and consistency to his jumper, Jeffers’ ceiling projects as one of the highest in his class.

Jamal McKnight/ 6’0/ DeMatha/ Point Guard/ 2027:

McKnight is an explosive lead guard who plays with speed, toughness, and a scorer’s mentality. A one-man fast break, he thrives in transition and has a deep bag of crafty finishes around the rim, including runners and floaters that make him tough to contain in the paint. While he’s more of a scorer compared to his backcourt mate Ace Meeks, McKnight also displays solid court vision and passing ability when creating for others. Defensively, he brings grit and tenacity, regularly taking on tough assignments and disrupting opposing ball-handlers. With his aggressive style and natural instincts, McKnight is a rising guard to watch in the 2027 class.
Ace Meeks/ 6’0/ DeMatha/ Point Guard/ 2026:

is a dynamic floor general who checks off key boxes as both a facilitator and a competitor. With high level court vision and decision-making, Meeks thrives as a playmaker, consistently setting up teammates while keeping defenses off balance. Defensively, he's a relentless on-ball pest, applying constant pressure. He can knock down shots from the midrange and beyond the arc, giving him a reliable scoring arsenal. To add insult to injury, Meeks isn’t afraid to post up guards his size or smaller, showcasing strength and savvy rarely seen from sub-6'1" point guards. Prince Alexander-Moody/ 6’3/ Bishop McNamara/ Guard/ 2026:

Dynamic scoring guard who can light it up from anywhere on the court. With three-level scoring ability, he’s just as comfortable attacking the rim as he is knocking down shots from midrange and from deep. On defense, he’s active and effective, using his athleticism and instincts to disrupt opponents. Beyond scoring, Alexander-Moody is a poised playmaker who knows when to create for others, balancing aggression with smart decision-making. Alassane N’Diaye / 6’5” / Neumann Goretti / Forward / Class of 2026:

He plays bigger than his size, competes hard on the glass, and is comfortable putting the ball on the floor to create or push in transition. Maquis Newsome / 6’6” / Wing / Neumann-Goretti / Class of 2027:

On defense, Woodard stands out as a versatile rim protector who can guard multiple positions and protect the paint with his timing and athleticism. His blend of explosiveness and defensive impact makes him a high-ceiling prospect as he continues to develop his offensive game.

A quick, tough, and shifty floor general, Ashley-Wright shines with his crafty finishing ability around the rim and tight handle in traffic.
