GW Recap: Luke Hungers career night elevates GW to a convincing win over George Mason

Friday the 13th was supposed to be spooky — but for the visiting Patriots, it was just Luke Hunger flat-out taking over. The Canadian big man was in complete control, dropping 31 points and pulling down 10 boards in GW’s 72–53 win, and he made it look easy. He went 10-of-14 from the floor, a perfect 3-for-3 from deep, 8-of-9 at the line, and didn’t cough the ball up once or pick up a single foul. Just clean, efficient basketball all night.

And he had help.

Jean Aranguren, another transfer who’s been stepping up when it matters most, filled up the stat sheet with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists — and like Hunger, didn’t commit a turnover. It was one of those performances where GW wasn’t just better — they were sharper, tougher, and in control from start to finish.

Check out my recap of the cross town battle below.
