In the Wizards preseason opening loss to Brooklyn, Washington allowed 51 percent shooting from the field and 46 percent shooting from 3-point range. In Thursdays loss to Detroit, the Wizards saw Detroit shoot 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep. In other words, it's been a continuation from what we saw all of last season. Washington has to start building good habits defensively now if they want to achieve their goal of making a playoff push. The season begins next week and the games will come often due to the compressed schedule. If they don't get it together on the defensive end soon, they will be out of the playoff mix quick, fast and in a hurry.
