The bigger,, more experienced George Washington squad showed no mercy, cruising over American 107-67, further validating the hype surrounding the team.. Tre Dinkins led the way with a career-high 23 points, connecting on 7-of-9 from beyond the arc, while Christian Jones added an efficient 12 points and five assists. In his long-awaited return, Garrett Johnson scored 13 points in just 19 minutes, hitting three of GW’s 15 threes in a blistering .536 performance from deep. Seven Colonials scored in double figures as GW rolled to its highest-scoring regulation game since 2013. They host Old Dominion next on Saturday at 6 p.m.
American guard Greg Jones led the Eagles with a team high 14 points on 6-11 from the field.
