All-A-10 big man Rafael Castro powered the Buff & Blue with a dominant, efficient performance — 20 points on 6-of-6 shooting, a game-high nine rebounds and three steals — while Hofstra transfer Jean Aranguren delivered his best outing yet in Foggy Bottom, pouring in a season-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting without a single turnover. With key wings Garrett Johnson (17 points), Bubu Benjamin (13 points) and Tyrone Marshall Jr. (10 points) also reaching double figures, GW closed the matchup on a blistering 66-37 run to move to 3-0 on the young season.
